Ingredients
  1. • Angel food cake mix
  2. • 1 can of diet sprite (or you can use water)
  3. • Red and blue food coloring
  4. • Berries
  5. • Whipped cream (can stuff comes out pretty can you can use low fat or sugar free or cool whip)
  6. • Star cookie cutters
Instructions
  1. Mix cake and soda. I don’t use a bunt because I want to cut out stars. I divided the batter and died one blue and the other half red. I poured into two 9x13 pans. Because I cut the batter in half, I also cut the cooking time in half listed on the box cake directions.
  2. Once out of the oven, remove immediately from pan. Angel food cake is sticky and you need it out on parchment paper to cut into your star shapes.
  3. Cut the stars with the cookie cutters and top with berries and cream. You can wash and cut berries ahead of time. To get that syrupy action, once washed and cut place in a Tupper wear container and sprinkle with sugar or sugar substitute. Mix and coat the berries and let sit in the fridge for an hour or two. This will create that syrup with your berries.
