Inexpensive Stroller and Car Seat

Expecting for the first time can be overwhelming when you start to see how many choices there are for traveling systems. I never realized how many options and brands and types are out there. We shopped around and did our research. Sam, the technology guru, went to dozens of websites and viewed reviews and videos. We went to multiple stores and decided that we wanted to invest in a stroller and car seat that was durable enough to be outside (possibly a light jog) and easily maneuverable, easy to fold and store, and all the needed accessories for a new mom. We had narrowed it down to the UppaBaby and the Britax. Both pricey, but both highly recommended.

We were set to make the purchase, when during our research; we found that BuyBuyBaby was offering a special on Britax. If you purchased a stroller, you got your choice of a free car seat, free basinet, or free second stroller seat. The car seat was over $230. BuyBuyBaby also had a coupon to those who signed up to their website for 20% off a single item. Usually the higher end brands are excluded from such offers, but Britax was not. We were able to purchase a stroller that retails for over $500, get a free car seat, and save $100.

Make sure when purchasing high ticket items for your baby, you do your research. BuyBuyBaby, BabiesRus, and Target are always running sales. At least once a month I get a notification of a sale or coupons being offered. Make a list early on of the more expensive items you need and aren’t listing on the registry. Keep an eye out for circulars, sales, and web offers. By knowing in advance and waiting for the right time, you can save hundreds of dollars on your needed items. Make sure to read the fine print because some coupons will exclude certain brands. Important to know: BuyBuyBaby is owned by BedBath&Beyond and will honor their 20% coupons.
